Huawei: its Arcfox Alpha S HBT car would have 1000 km of range

At its annual conference for foreign analysts, Huawei discussed the Arcfox Alpha S HBT and its efforts in the electric vehicle more generally. We hear that Huawei is aiming to have “the most extensive set of features on the market” - the company also teases a 1000-kilometer range for the Alpha S, which will have to be confirmed in real-world testing.

On the sidelines of an investor conference call, Huawei made new announcements about the Arcfox Alpha S. With its mobile division battered by sanctions, Huawei declares that the electric car is now at the forefront of the company's efforts, with the Alpha S, a vehicle developed in collaboration with BAIC New Energy, Chongqing Changan, and Guangzhou Automobile.

HUAWEI TALKS ABOUT ITS AMBITIONS IN ELECTRIC CARS

Conquering the Chinese market would already be a major success in itself , but Huawei also intends to establish itself internationally. It was then that Xu Zihun, one of the leaders of the firm, chose to evoke the Arcfox Alpha S while throwing a little spade at his - now - biggest competitor Tesla: “Our team is doing its best, and I expect the best from her. I don't know if we should be bragging about it. But they told me that our car can achieve 1000 km of non-stop autonomous driving in an urban environment, which is much better than Tesla! ”. 

Currently the Tesla vehicle with the most range is the Tesla Model S Plaid - announced with more than 840 km , but which in real conditions is closer to 630 km. We understand, however, that Arcfox and its vehicles are there primarily to act as a showcase , since Huawei seeks above all to sell solutions to manufacturers, an area that traditionally absorbs a lot of investment.
