Kia EV6

Two weeks after presenting the ergonomic contours of the EV6, Kia detailed on March 30, 2021 the technical specifications of the electric crossover. Based on the E-GMP platform, the Kia EV6 is distinguished above all by fast charging: less than 20 minutes for an almost complete charge. Five models are planned.

Until now, the Kia brand had not disclosed the technical specifications of the Kia EV6. Today she released a press release, as well as a video on YouTube (which you can find at the end of this article) to confirm the different models of Kia EV6 that will be offered, as well as their characteristics. The number of models is five  : two in the standard version, two in the “Long Range” version and one in the GT version where the engine is much more efficient. The standard and Long Range EV6s are available with two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Kia EV6 ,FAST CHARGING

The main feature of the EV6 is the power of its load. It is this argument that Kia puts forward. And this is normal. The Kia EV6 is offered in two options. The first is compatible with a load of 400 volts , while the second with a load of 800 volts . Thanks to the second, the crossover offers very fast charging times: 4.5 minutes for a range of 100 kilometers and 18 minutes to go from 0 to 80% . Of course, this will depend on the capacity of the battery. These figures are for the standard two-wheel-drive EV6, offered with a 77.4 kWh battery .

Now let's look at the power of the engines. The standard version with two-wheel drive offers a power of 168 horsepower . Acceleration was not announced. On the other hand, the autonomy is official: 317 miles WLTP, or 510 kilometers , approximately. It is the only model where autonomy is official. Pity. The standard four-wheel drive engine delivers 232 horsepower . It goes from 0 to 100 km / hour in 6.2 seconds. Its autonomy will certainly be a little lower.

The Long Range versions of the EV6 offer 225 horsepower and 321 horsepower for the 2WD and 4WD versions, respectively. On the acceleration side, the 4-wheel drive version goes from 0 to 100 kilometers / hour in 5.2 seconds. Finally, the GT version, the most powerful and offered only in four-wheel drive, benefits from a 577 horsepower engine . Acceleration is much better here: 3.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km / hour . This will give sensations to sports enthusiasts.
