Lamborghini

The energy transition is difficult for dream automobile manufacturers, accustomed to thermal mechanical cathedrals. But the time has passed for unreasonable displacement and salvation will necessarily go through electrification, total or partial. If it is not yet a question of electric motorization, Lamborghini is moving towards the hybrid.

Like McLaren, which has already made the choice of hybridization with the Speedtail or the recent Artura , Lamborghini should inaugurate a hybrid engine for the replacement of the Aventador, which should see the light of day this year. But its configuration would be exotic.

Supercapacitors as a battery

According to initial information, this future sports hybrid should take over the mechanics of the Lamborghini Sian: the atmospheric 6.5-liter V12 will be associated with an electric motor equipped with a supercapacitor. The total power in the boost phase could reach 819 hp.

This hybrid mechanism should not allow Lamborghini to better envision the future. Because if electrification comes as a reinforcement to improve performance, CO2 emissions should always be high. But Sant'Agata Bolognese would already have the solution to meet the standards with a PHEV version of the Urus which could take over the mechanics of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S e-Hybrid .
