Honda CMX1100 Rebel

The brand surprised us with the launch of the new Honda CMX1100 Rebel, the older sister of the Honda Rebel 500 and from which it borrows the custom look. In addition, it uses the engine of the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin, but adjusted to 86 hp.

Torque control, anti-wheelie, cruise control and optional DCT dual clutch change are some of the goodness we will find in this new bobber style mount and it will reach the market in early 2021, although it has not yet been price.

Honda's custom top of the range will arrive in spring 2021

Honda CMX1100 Rebel

The truth is that a long time ago we showed some patents that perfectly matched the bike that Honda just presented. But in those leaked designs it looked like it was going to be a slower process and the truth is that we've been caught off guard with this delivery.

Having him had it all by now. Because the base of the Honda CMX1100 Rebel is nothing more than that of the Honda Rebel 500 and the mechanics are basically the same as that used by the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin. A 1,084 cc cylindrical block, already Euro5, and that has been adjusted in performance for this custom, which yields 85.8 hp and a maximum torque of 98 Nm.

And if that's not enough, the DCT dual-clutch automatic shift is already something the Africa Twin works with and they've decided it's also optional for the new Rebel. Add to this the electronic throttle and a good handful of aids such as torque control, anti-wheelie, cruise control and driving mode selector, as well as a slightly better suspension than the Rebel 500.

Aesthetically it is a Rebel 500 that has grown in size and with some small touch-ups, having the Honda Rebel 1100 of bobber-style references and adding an LED lighting system with four-diode front optics, an LCD instrumentation and two accessory packages called 'Street' and 'Tour',to give the frame a more casual or traveler style, respectively.
